Senior Accountant

Description SAIC has an opening for a Senior Accountant in support of highly critical customer activities supporting our national security. In this role you will act as the senior member of a team of accountants responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. Your responsibilities include: Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies Provide analysis and support to external auditors Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position Certified Public Accountant certification maintained in good standing 18+ years accounting/auditing experience, preferably in support of government activities Demonstrated performance executing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics Demonstrated ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions Exceptional communication skills Strong organizational and management skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Willingness to conduct domestic travel up to 10% of time Ability to act as the subject matter expert on a team of accountants and advise the customer on actions with vendors Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000.
