About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Dialysis Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Ability to cannulate AV fistula Ability to cannulate AV graft Knowledge of infection control Experience with acute care inpatient dialysis Description: Minimum experience of 2 years in dialysis required. The unit accepts first-time travelers. Call requirements include 1-2 Saturdays and 1-2 Sundays per month. RTO is a maximum of 7 days. Every other weekend is required. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Unit systems include Pyxis and EPIC. Full compliance is required to start on time. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls in their assignment period. If two major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during their assignment period, the traveler must work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Compliance includes completing core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing. All compliance documents are due before the assigned start date. Modules are non-billable and completed during orientation. Daily patient census is approximately 24. Unit support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Special procedures in the unit include dialysis. Staff will be trained on specific equipment used in the unit.
