The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.Vast is looking for an Additive Manufacturing Technician, reporting to the Supervisor, Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the additive manufacturing equipment, as well as part post-processing and quality control.This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.Shift: Second Shift: 2pm - 10:30pmResponsibilities:Setting up additive manufacturing print jobs, verifying machine settings against best practices, overseeing the print process and quality as the machine operates, recover build pauses if necessarySafely handling the metal powder before and after the build, includes sieving, loading, part de-powdering, measuring, and safe storageKeep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained work spaceDevelop and implement process efficiency improvement projectsIndependently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete mannerOperate post processing equipment such as drills, handheld grinders and CNC machines as requiredPerform preventive routine maintenance on the machines and troubleshooting manufacturing hardwareSupport rapid iteration and development testingDocument build, test, and maintenance activitiesAdhere to and help refine test processes, safety standards, and best practicesSupport other teams through cross-functional collaboration and trainingMinimum Qualifications:High school degree or equivalency certificate1+ years of manufacturing, or similar industry, experienceComfortable working with hand tools, basic measurement equipment, and following detailed procedures exactly and safelyPreferred Skills & Experience:3+ years experience in additive manufacturing or similar environmentExcellent communication skillsAbility to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: assembly procedures/work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, and parts listExperience working in aerospace or defense manufacturing environmentsExperience driving engagement with others, taking initiative, and helping push the team to new levelsExperience with metal powdersAdditional Requirements:Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestonesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassistedPay Range: California $23 - $58 USDBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
