Athletics Operations Specialist

Operations Specialist – Athletics This full‑time, event‑driven position requires the ability to perform labor intensive set‑ups, re‑sets and conversions for all arena events, athletic spaces, banquet rooms, and conference center use. The role demands front‑line customer problem resolution, variable work hours (nights, weekends, shift rotations, overtime), and a willingness to resolve a wide array of unanticipated issues. Job Responsibilities Perform and complete all event set‑ups, conversions, furniture moves, and normalized building re‑sets according to specifications. Respond to and resolve all operations‑related requests from internal stakeholders (athletic teams, department members) and external stakeholders (catering, concessions, cleaning contractor). Identify and execute cleaning duties as needed. Assist with facility maintenance issues and coordinate with Physical Plant, Technical Services, or cleaning contractor to resolve efficiently. Receive, store, and distribute all event‑related deliveries of customer and stakeholder materials. Perform snow removal and seasonal support functions as required. Keep records of work performed, time and material used; report on appropriate documents. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all established safety practices and procedures. Job Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School certification. Demonstrated maintenance and/or custodial skills. Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurability by Xavier’s insurance carrier. Ability to lift 75lb, climb ladders, and read/work from diagrams.
