Restaurant General Manager

About the Role The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring a high standard of service and guest experience while driving financial performance and team development. Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and inspire the management and hourly teams while fostering a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous development. Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top hospitality talent. Conduct regular performance conversations, coaching sessions, and development planning. Build leadership succession plans and support employee growth. Lead by example with a highly visible presence on the floor during service. Guest Experience Ensure every guest receives an elevated, memorable experience. Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and empathy. Build relationships with VIP guests, local clientele, and community partners. Maintain luxury hospitality standards that consistently exceed expectations. Own overall P&L performance and achieve revenue and profitability goals. Analyze labor, food, and beverage costs while maximizing operational efficiencies. Develop staffing strategies aligned with business demand. Monitor key performance metrics including sales, labor, beverage cost, and operating expenses. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through strategic programming, events, and partnerships. Operations Oversee all front- and back-of-house operations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, liquor licensing, and company standards. Partner closely with culinary leadership to deliver seamless execution. Maintain facility standards and oversee operational procedures, inventory controls, and maintenance needs. Business Growth Partner with marketing and events teams to execute activations, promotions, and private events. Support community partnerships and local engagement initiatives. Drive repeat business through exceptional hospitality and relationship building. Collaborate with senior leadership on operational initiatives and long-term business strategy. Qualifications 5+ years of General Manager experience in upscale, luxury, or high-volume hospitality. Proven success managing multi-million-dollar restaurant or hospitality operations. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated P&L ownership. Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, and team development skills. Experience leading large, high-performing teams in fast-paced environments. Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Ability to remain calm, organized, and decisive under pressure. Preferred Skills Strong food and beverage knowledge with an appreciation for elevated service. Experience overseeing private events and VIP clientele. Opening or repositioning hospitality concepts is a plus.
