Project Surveyor

Project Surveyor Department: Survey/Geomatics Location: Frankfort, KY We're looking for a Project Surveyor to join the HMB team in Kentucky! Key Responsibilities Assist in land surveying activities for various projects, including transportation, boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys. Conduct fieldwork, including data collection and equipment operation (e.g., total stations, GPS, and levels). Prepare and review survey drawings, maps, and reports for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and communicate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate survey results. Assist with project documentation, including permit applications, survey reports, and calculations. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal surveying standards and regulations. Provide support to senior surveyors in project planning and execution. Participate in quality control procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the survey team and projects. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in land surveying, with a focus on project work. LSIT (Licensed Surveyor in Training) certification preferred, but not required. Proficiency with surveying equipment and software (e.g., MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble, Carlson). Familiarity with surveying principles and local regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members. Ability to work in both office and field environments. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
