Shipping Inventory Scanner

This role focuses exclusively on scanning and registering a large volume of auto parts inventory into the warehouse management system using RF scanning equipment. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring each item is accurately captured and recorded to maintain precise inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Use an RF scan gun to scan and register a high volume of auto parts inventory, with a target of up to 37,000 items per day.
• Ensure each item is accurately scanned and recorded in the inventory system with strong attention to detail.
• Follow established scanning procedures and workflow to maintain consistent inventory records.
• Handle inventory items carefully while scanning to prevent damage and ensure accurate identification.
• Coordinate smoothly with team members who will move items after scanning, maintaining an efficient workflow.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality to support continuous inventory processing.
• Adhere to all warehouse safety guidelines while performing scanning duties.
• Focus solely on scanning tasks without engaging in picking, packing, or other warehouse responsibilities.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to use an RF scan gun or RF scanner for inventory tasks.
• Strong attention to detail when scanning and recording inventory items.
• Reliable attendance and dependability in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced setting with repetitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of warehouse inventory processes and general labor practices.
• Ability to stand, move, and handle materials for extended periods while scanning.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very fast-paced warehouse environment focused on auto parts inventory. You will primarily work with RF scan guns and other standard inventory control tools, performing repetitive scanning tasks throughout your shift. The setting involves standing and moving for extended periods, handling boxed or loose auto parts as they arrive in large shipments. The workflow is organized so that you focus only on scanning, while other team members handle picking, packing, and moving items, allowing you to concentrate on accuracy and speed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Vernon, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
