The Software Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and improving custom software applications, databases, integrations, and automated solutions that support the company's business and production operations.

The Software Developer works closely with internal departments to understand business requirements, develop technical specifications, and design or customize software, databases, integrations, and technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.

This is a hands on development role. The Software Developer will work with both existing and new applications and will be responsible for application development, systems integration, database development, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing application support.

The position works collaboratively across the organization to develop practical, reliable, maintainable, and scalable software solutions aligned with business and operational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, support, and improve custom business and production applications
• Design, develop, customize, and integrate software solutions that improve business and production workflows
• Work with internal departments to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications
• Develop and support custom applications, databases, APIs, integrations, and automated workflows
• Develop and support integrations between custom applications and enterprise business systems, including EPMS and other internal and external platforms
• Develop, maintain, and support customizations, extensions, and integrations for Pageflex and other web to print, storefront, and business applications
• Maintain application source code, repositories, version control, and development workflows using Azure DevOps
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing and legacy applications, including evaluating older applications for modernization when appropriate
• Diagnose application, database, and integration issues and implement practical solutions
• Test software changes and new development prior to production deployment
• Participate in application deployment, upgrades, modernization, and ongoing maintenance
• Follow established source control, development, testing, and deployment practices
• Document applications, integrations, dependencies, configurations, and development processes
• Analyze information and data to identify problems, opportunities, and effective technology solutions
• Collaborate with departments throughout the organization on technology and process improvement initiatives
• Evaluate development tools and technologies that can provide meaningful business and operational value
• Work effectively with technology vendors, partners, customers, and other external resources as needed

 

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework, industry training, or professional software development experience preferred
• Experience with C#, .NET Framework and/or .NET Core, JavaScript, and Visual Studio
• Experience developing and supporting applications using relational databases and SQL
• Experience developing or working with APIs, system integrations, and data integrations
• Experience integrating software with ERP, MIS, or other enterprise business systems
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and software development best practices
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or comparable source control and development lifecycle tools
• Comfortable working with existing and legacy applications, including understanding unfamiliar codebases, troubleshooting issues, maintaining business critical applications, and modernizing applications when appropriate
• Ability to understand existing code and independently work through application and integration issues
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
• Ability to design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and support custom applications and databases
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Experience with EPMS or similar print manufacturing MIS/ERP platforms is preferred
• Experience with Pageflex, web to print platforms, storefront applications, or similar configurable enterprise software is preferred
• Experience in print, manufacturing, marketing services, workflow automation, or another process driven production environment is preferred
• Relevant education, professional certifications, or equivalent practical experience are beneficial
