Visual Quality Expert for AI Model Evaluation

Evaluate high-resolution film, VFX, animation, and photographic imagery at a pixel level to ensure production-quality visual fidelity. You will inspect enhanced or upscaled frames, find subtle defects that typical viewers miss, and translate those observations into precise evaluation criteria that inform the development and tuning of generative AI imaging models.

• Judge imagery frame by frame, identifying compression artifacts, noise, aliasing, banding, grain-structure inconsistency, and over- or under-sharpening.
• Maintain an uncompromising focus on subtle defects and flag outputs that fall short of professional image-quality standards.
• Design and refine evaluation templates and rating guidelines to ensure consistent visual-quality judgments across reviewers, including handling edge cases.
• Convert complex visual phenomena into clear, concise descriptive language suitable for data captions and evaluation records.
• Generate targeted visual samples for testing, and create side-by-side comparisons to demonstrate issues and improvements.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and program leads to preserve visual consistency across sequences and among reviewers.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in high-end visual evaluation in film, VFX, animation, or professional photography.
• Direct professional background in at least one of the following roles: VFX Supervisor, Rendering Supervisor, Lighting Supervisor Lead or Artist, Colorist, Director of Photography or Cinematographer, Effects or Surfacing Artist, High-End Photographer, Director with background in crowd or background action, or Digital Projectionist.
• Training from a university or program with a respected film, visual effects, or digital media curriculum.
• Proven ability to translate complex visual details into precise, written descriptions in English.
• Familiarity with AI tools and imaging workflows, including the ability to produce visual samples for evaluation and comparison.
• Reliable access to a 4K-resolution monitor or equivalent display for pixel-level review.

Part-time W-2 employment through Cincinnatus LLC, placed with a leading AI laboratory as a member of their extended workforce. Hourly employment, expected regular engagement of 20 hours per week, with work scheduled to overlap the PST to EST time window. Remote work from within the United States only. This placement embeds you with client teams to work on AI model development and evaluation tasks.

Hourly rate range: 60 to 90 hourly.
