Quality Technician - WEEKEND

Responsibilities Maintain a positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal. Utilize the NCR process and 8D approach to build quality into all processes. Internally audit daily work activities to identify non‑conformances that require sustained correction. Expeditiously initiate, manage‑by‑priority, and close out NCRs. Escalate repeated non‑conformances or advanced level problems to QA Engineers. Ensure a quality product is passed through all stations. Identify opportunities to incorporate quality into products and processes. Work closely with engineering, production, safety, and vendors to ensure product compliance. Engage in improvements that drive the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) down. Support Quality Engineering with root‑cause investigations and corrective action implementation. Update customer issue responses within the customer portal and/or NCR system to support communication and feedback on reported issues. Minimum Job Qualifications 2–5 years of experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and/or tape measures) for in‑depth quality checks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team in a team‑oriented environment. Ability to plan and organize responsibilities according to company needs. Decision‑making and self‑paced work skills with strong prioritization. Demonstrated problem‑solving ability using 8D/NCR methodology. Experience with data collection. Ability to read engineering drawings and measure or test products to determine conformance. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders at different levels (upper management, production, engineering, clients, vendors) to resolve quality issues. Must act in the best interest of Vertiv with clients and suppliers. Must have an employment track record consistent with Vertiv Internal Job Posting standards. Preferred Qualifications Quality‑related certifications and training (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Calibration, 9‑hour Quality Technician, etc.). Trained Internal Auditor with experience auditing to internal and ISO standards. Education and Certifications High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements Light lifting (5–25 lbs). Frequent standing. Frequent kneeling, crawling, and stooping. Frequent bending and twisting. Environmental Demands Noise level: low/medium. Working around moving machinery (fork‑lifts, tractors). Protective equipment required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.). Work outdoors—no effective protection from weather.
