Position: Church Connections Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Finance and Administration
Position Type: Part-Time

Hours: Sunday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.; Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Schedule: Includes regular Sunday responsibilities and weekday office hours as needed

Position Summary

The Church Connections Coordinator is a key ministry and administrative team member who helps create a welcoming, connected, and spiritually growing church environment. This position combines  Sunday hospitality and guest connections, administrative support for the Lead Pastor, and coordination of discipleship ministries .

The ideal candidate is organized, relational, spiritually mature, dependable, and passionate about helping people take their next step in their relationship with Jesus and connection to the church.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sunday Hospitality & Connections

• Coordinate Sunday morning hospitality and guest connection efforts.
• Help ensure guests and members receive a warm, welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage hospitality and connection volunteers.
• Coordinate welcome areas, guest information, connection materials, and follow-up processes.
• Make sure first-time guests are contacted and connected with appropriate next steps.
• Help identify opportunities to connect people with ministries, small groups, serving opportunities, and other church activities.
• Assist with special services, church events, and outreach activities.
• Work with ministry leaders to create a consistent culture of hospitality throughout the church.

2. Administrative Assistant to the Lead Pastor

• Provide administrative and organizational support to the Lead Pastor.
• Manage the Lead Pastor’s calendar, appointments, meetings, and ministry commitments.
• Assist with correspondence, communication, documents, reports, and other administrative tasks.
• Help coordinate staff meetings, leadership meetings, and ministry-related appointments.
• Prepare materials and information needed for meetings and ministry activities.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive pastoral, personnel, and church matters.
• Serve as a communication link between the Lead Pastor, staff, volunteers, and church members when appropriate.
• Assist with projects and assignments the Lead Pastor delegates.

3. Discipleship Director Responsibilities

• Help develop and coordinate the church’s discipleship pathway.
• Help people identify and take their next step in spiritual growth.
• Coordinate discipleship classes, Bible studies, small groups, mentoring, and other growth opportunities.
• Recruit, communicate with, and support discipleship leaders and volunteers.
• Help develop resources and processes that encourage biblical learning, spiritual growth, and meaningful relationships.
• Track participation and follow up with individuals who express interest in discipleship opportunities.
• Work with the Lead Pastor and ministry leaders to ensure discipleship ministries support the church's overall vision and mission.
• Help communicate upcoming discipleship opportunities to the congregation.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Warm, welcoming, and relational personality.
• Ability to work effectively with pastors, staff, volunteers, and church members.
• Ability to recruit, train, organize, and encourage volunteers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
• Proficiency with standard office technology, email, calendars, and church management software.
• Previous church ministry, administrative, hospitality, or discipleship experience is preferred.
