Patient Account Registrar

Overview We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar , sometimes referred to as a Hospital Admission Representative. Patient Account Registrar collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information while ensuring eligibility, benefits, and authorizations are accurately obtained. Patient Account Registrar collaborates closely with the Admitting team and communicates effectively with patients across all age groups. Shifts Available: Days Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 8-hour Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid vacation, sick time and holidays Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options Employer 401K options Tuition reimbursement options Life, disability, and other insurance options Many other amazing benefits Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Interview patients or authorized representatives to gather accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance eligibility, benefits and required authorizations Enter and retrieve patient data using computerized systems Communicate clearly with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all life stages Support Admitting department operations, including reception, PBX functions, and special assignments Qualifications Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Customer Service experience required. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).
