Charge Nurse (RN) - Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $35-50 per hour

Cardiothoracic PCU Team Lead/Charge Nurse (RN) Location: Saint Louis, Missouri (Barnes-Jewish Hospital) Shift: 12‑hour shifts, 7:00pm–7:30am with night/weekend/holiday differentials and a BSN differential. Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults with the interprofessional team as appropriate. Leads the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Actively utilizes and champions scientific inquiry for evidence‑based practices, including participation in journal clubs, facilitating practice change based on new knowledge, recommending new standards of care, and conducting literature searches to support unit or organizational goals. Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Leads the evaluation of the patient and family experience and adjusts care to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely in a safety‑sensitive environment. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Nursing (minimum). Experience: 2–5 years of nursing experience; supervisor experience not required. Licenses & Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN). Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: 5–10 years of nursing experience. Charge Nurse experience preferred but not required. ADN/BSN/MSN candidates accepted.
