Human Resources Manager

Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Lead HR Where It Actually Matters This is an opportunity to step into a visible, trusted HR leadership role at a skilled‑trades manufacturing facility where people, relationships, and craftsmanship matter. The business is no longer family‑owned, but the culture still feels like one — long tenure, strong loyalty, and pride in the work. What’s needed now is an experienced HR leader who can bring structure, consistency, and calm leadership while respecting what already exists. You’ll be the sole HR professional on site in Rhode Island, owning employee relations, workers’ compensation, safety support, and HR fundamentals end to end, with occasional support for a New Jersey site. This is not a corporate or back‑office HR role — it’s hands‑on, people‑centered, and highly impactful. Why This Role Is Appealing Real ownership: You’ll run HR, not support it from the sidelines Visibility and trust: Your work will be seen, valued, and relied upon daily Hands‑on environment: Close partnership with operations and employees on the floor Stability with purpose: Help guide a long‑tenured workforce through change thoughtfully Clear scope: Employee relations, workers’ comp, safety support, and HR fundamentals — done well What You’ll Be Doing Be the HR Leader on Site Serve as the primary HR partner for the Rhode Island facility Handle employee relations with fairness, discretion, and consistency Build trust across a skilled trades workforce and leadership team Coach supervisors on performance management, documentation, and accountability Manage Rhode Island workers’ compensation claims and return‑to‑work processes Ensure compliance with RI employment laws and HR regulations Partner with leadership to proactively reduce risk and improve consistency Support Safety & Accountability Coordinate safety training, documentation, and follow‑up Partner with operations on OSHA compliance and incident response Reinforce safety expectations through clarity and follow‑through Safety ownership is important, but this is not a technical EHS role. Provide Light Multi‑Site Support Offer periodic HR support to a New Jersey facility (approximately quarterly visits after onboarding) What We’re Looking For 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in manufacturing or skilled trades Strong employee relations and conflict‑resolution skills Working knowledge of Rhode Island workers’ compensation and employment laws Comfort operating independently as the sole HR resource Practical, steady leadership style with good judgment and follow‑through SHRM certification is a plus, not required Base salary: $100,000–$125,000, depending on experience Benefits package included Full‑time, on‑site role in Rhode Island Occasional travel to New Jersey Ready to Apply?
