Medical AssistantClassification: Hourly, Non-ExemptLocation: Baldwin ParkJob Summary: As a medical assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals, such as Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals, in providing patient care. Your responsibilities will encompass administrative tasks, patient care duties, and assisting with medical procedures. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate demeanor.Accountable To: Clinic LeadJob Duties: Responsible for accurately executing tasks under the guidance of physicians or advanced practice professionals during patient examinations and treatments, and under the supervision of the clinic lead for administrative duties, which include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide clinical services such as TB skin tests and administration of prescribed medication.Draw blood, prepare, and administer vaccinations, injections, and obtain laboratory specimens.Prepare patients for healthcare provider examination, position instruments and equipment, and assist the healthcare provider.Obtain patient medical history and take appropriate vital signs. Document accordingly in EHR system.Greeting patients, arranging appointments for various providers, verifying insurance eligibility information collecting copays, scanning insurance documents, and inputting and updating data.Scan all medical records into the EHR system.Responsible for ensuring the upkeep of current laboratory supplies inventory, back-office logs (daily/monthly), and managing general supplies.Answers phones, screen and triage incoming calls, and direct calls appropriately.
