Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Unit

Overview Location: Norfolk, VA. Shift: First (Days). Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Unit. Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation available. Responsibilities Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process and critical thinking model. Perform assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and coordination of care, including teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Administer chemotherapy, hospice care, radiation, stem cell transplants/CAR‑T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management. Monitor physical conditions, prescribe medication, and administer treatments as appropriate. Qualifications Registered Nursing (RN) license required (students in the process of obtaining licensure may apply). Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing; BSN or MSN preferred. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course; chemotherapy & biotherapy provider card within 6 months of hire. New graduate nurses welcome; 11‑week Transition to Practice program and 6‑month residency program available. None of experience required. Benefits Medical, dental, vision plans.
