Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Weirton, West Virginia
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,030
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, generally 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical patients, including individuals with pneumonia, urinary tract infections, altered mental status, gastrointestinal bleeding, alcohol withdrawal, falls, and weakness
• Documentation: Epic electronic health record
• Orientation: One educator/computer-system day and one preceptor day
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in an acute-care environment
• Willingness to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation as scheduled
• Flexibility to float to medical-surgical, medical-surgical telemetry, or intermediate-care assignments for appropriate lower-acuity patients
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Travel Med-Surg RN Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical-surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely, including approved titratable therapies such as heparin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Monitor patient condition, recognize changes in status, and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate care team members
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, patient care technicians, and other interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs
• Use Epic to complete accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Monitor telemetry patients as assigned and respond appropriately to alerts in collaboration with monitor technicians
• Support safe patient mobility, fall prevention, infection prevention, and other quality-care initiatives
• Float or participate in shift-pull rotation when needed while maintaining care appropriate to the assigned patient population
