Southwest Idaho ENT is excited to welcome an extern to join our team in Boise, Idaho! Under the supervision of our CCC‑A audiologists, you will see patients across a lifespan and gain hands‑on experience with a wide variety of audiologic services including: Patient counseling and education Adult diagnostics Pediatric diagnostics (including VRA, OAE & CPA) ABRs Adult & pediatric hearing aid dispensing Bone anchored hearing aids Vestibular evaluation & treatment including VNG, VEMP, vHIT & posturography Tinnitus assessment & management Hearing conservation If you are a motivated student seeking an opportunity to learn and grow into an independent provider while working in a collaborative environment, then apply today! Externship Information Primary practice setting: ENT group practice Number of audiologists at the site: 0 FTE Masters Degree, 3 FTE Au.D., 0 FTE Ph.D., 0 FTE other doctorates, 2 FTE professional support staff, 2 FTE clerical support staff Availability of audiology students each year: 1 fourth‑year externship Start date: May/June 2027 Expected hours per week: 40 hours Vacation days: 7 days Continuing education opportunities: Yes (online or conference) Travel to satellite centers: No Local students preferred: No Orientation provided: Yes (clinical policies, patient rights, quality assessment, etc.) Clinical Opportunities Hearing evaluations (adult and pediatric) Tympanometry and acoustic reflexes Vestibular assessments (VNG, VEMP, vHIT, posturography) Hearing aid dispensing and fitting (including bone anchored devices) Auditory processing and tinnitus assessments when available Audiologic rehabilitation (group or individualized) Skills and Expectations Must have mastered interpersonal skills, teamwork, and basic audiologic testing & interpretation before starting. During the externship, refine problem‑solving, decision‑making, testing skills, and independence.
