Job Overview:The surgical technician will collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse, serving as an integral part of the team to provide tailored, age-appropriate care to patients.
Qualifications:Required:
- Completion of a nationally or regionally accredited surgical technologist educational program OR
- Possession of a certified surgical technologist credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or a similar recognized credentialing body.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Successful completion of all Orientation and Departmental Programs with appropriate documentation.
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM
- 37.5 hours per week
- Foster an environment that promotes safe patient outcomes.
- Monitor and ensure that patients' physiological responses during surgery align with expectations in the surgical suite and throughout the perioperative process.
- Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to deliver individualized, age-specific patient care.
- Anticipate the needs for surgical instruments and equipment during procedures, adapting smoothly to any deviations from the norm. Adhere to all safety protocols to mitigate fire risks in the operating room, including those related to laser and electrosurgery.
