Responsibilities

- Own and deliver end-to-end projects across product and platform teams
- Design, build, and maintain a central monolithic system using Python and Django
- Develop robust API-driven system integrations with a strong backend focus
- Modernize and stabilize core platform functionality for long-term scalability
- Provide production support and participate in on-call rotations
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate team performance through technical leadership
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to stakeholders across technical levels

Required Skills and Experience

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Advanced proficiency in Python and Django
- Strong backend/full-stack development experience, including API design
- Solid TypeScript skills (front and backend development)
- Experience working with MySQL databases
- Demonstrated expertise in system architecture and integration
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

Preferred Skills

- Experience in healthcare, clinical laboratory, or genomics technology
- Familiarity with AWS-native environments and cloud platforms
- Exposure to containerization, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience designing and maintaining multi-consumer API platforms
- Knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex)
