Location: Brockton, MA Pay: $24.00 - $27.00/hour Type: 37.5 hours/week in office Are you organized, great with numbers, and looking for a role where your work directly protects vulnerable people? Join our small, passionate non-profit team! We are looking for a Representative Payee to manage financial affairs and Social Security benefits for clients who need support. Your work will directly ensure our community members stay safely housed, fed, and financially stable. What Makes This Role Great Community Impact: Work directly on the front lines of housing stability and advocacy. The Hard Rule: You must be on-site on the 1st and 3rd of every month to manage critical benefit distribution days. Please note: Exact paydays for benefits can vary slightly depending on weekends or holidays, meaning your on-site presence will shift to the closest business day. What You'll Do Manage Client Funds: Receive and budget Social Security benefits for designated clients. Prioritize Vital Needs: Ensure rent, utilities, food, and medical bills are paid first and on time. Keep Meticulous Records: Log expenses in QuickBooks, manage individual bank accounts, reconciliations and complete annual Social Security reports. Collaborate: Partner with clients, families, landlords, and case managers to build stable monthly budgets. Who We Are Looking For QuickBooks Experience: You must have hands-on experience using QuickBooks for basic accounting, bookkeeping, or transaction logging. Detail-Oriented Pros: You have basic bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience. Spreadsheet Savvy: Excel doesn't scare you; you can handle accurate, independent data entry. Empathetic Communicators: You will need to bring a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to serving diverse backgrounds. You would be helping clients build long-term stability by prioritizing essential needs over immediate demands with clear and firm boundaries. Trustworthy Fiduciaries: Because you handle client money, passing a background and credit check is required.
