Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs. Float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units as needed. Highlights: Specialty focus on acute leukemia population, primarily newly diagnosed patients Medical unit with high volume of blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, may occasionally reach 1:5 24-bed unit with daily census of approximately 22 patients Epic charting system; GE telemetry monitoring 72-hour orientation provided; oncology experience preferred but not required No chemotherapy certification required for this position Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams Requirements: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months) At least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) experience required Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of application) BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias Demonstrated skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and peripheral/central line care Experience with feeding tube care and management, and use of Rapid Response Teams Epic charting experience required Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients during a critical time in their healthcare journey.
