Work Environment

This position offers the convenience of a remote work setting, allowing you to deliver care through telehealth platforms while incorporating in-person consultations at our Riverhead outpatient facility as needed. Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, fostering a supportive work-life balance that enables our counselors to thrive both professionally and personally.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient needs, values, and emotional well-being to inform personalized treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions that focus on trauma recovery and coping strategies tailored to specific patient circumstances.
• Develop, implement, and monitor customized treatment plans, adjusting as necessary to ensure alignment with patient progress and needs.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma coping mechanisms, fostering understanding and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and community organizations, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and quality of care.
• Engage in continuing education to maintain your National Certified Counselor certification and stay current with best practices in mental health treatment.

This role primarily serves trauma injury patients from diverse backgrounds who are grappling with mental health challenges resulting from traumatic experiences. Your expertise will directly influence their journey toward recovery, as you address complex emotional issues and empower them to set and achieve their personal goals.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is required.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience working with trauma patients, demonstrating your ability to navigate this unique area of mental health.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with electronic medical record systems.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective interactions with clients and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with managing case documentation and therapy notes within an EMR system.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development through continuing education and participation in relevant workshops or training.

Compensation and Benefits
