The Benson Hotel is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Breakfast Cook to help execute and oversee our daily breakfast operation.

This is a hands-on leadership position for a cook who takes pride in organization, consistency, quality, and professional kitchen standards. The Lead Breakfast Cook will work closely with the culinary leadership team to ensure breakfast service is properly prepared, efficiently executed, and consistently delivered at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the daily preparation and execution of breakfast service
• Prepare eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, sauces, baked items, and other menu components according to established recipes and standards
• Maintain consistent quality, presentation, seasoning, and portion control
• Organize the breakfast line and ensure the kitchen is fully prepared before service
• Provide direction and support to breakfast cooks, prep cooks, and dish staff as needed
• Coordinate production for restaurant service, room service, banquets, and hotel events when applicable
• Monitor product levels, communicate ordering needs, and minimize waste
• Maintain accurate labeling, dating, rotation, cooling, and storage procedures
• Ensure all sanitation, food-safety, and cleanliness standards are followed
• Communicate effectively with culinary leadership and the hotel operations team
• Assist with training and maintaining accountability within the breakfast team

Qualifications

• At least two years of professional breakfast, brunch, hotel, or high-volume cooking experience preferred
• Previous lead cook or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong egg cookery, sauté, griddle, and breakfast production skills
• Ability to work efficiently during high-volume service
• Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working early-morning shifts
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Current Oregon Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain one before beginning work
