Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Canton, Ohio
• Unit: 24-bed seizure and stroke step-down unit
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,730–$1,820
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through February 6, 2027
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every third weekend and every other holiday
• Float Requirement: May float to other step-down units at the same level of care
• Call Requirement: None
• Charting System: Cerner
• Orientation: Three-day orientation program including onboarding, education, and supervised unit training
• Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license
• At least 2 years of recent PCU, progressive care, step-down, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Strong neurological assessment, clinical judgment, and patient prioritization skills
• Experience with electronic health records; Cerner experience is preferred

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with seizure disorders, stroke, syncope, dizziness, and altered mental status.
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses, including gastrointestinal bleeding, pneumonia, sepsis, and cardiac or renal conditions requiring inotropic therapy.
• Perform focused and ongoing neurological assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Manage progressive-care therapies and commonly used infusions, including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dobutamine, and insulin.
• Initiate peripheral IVs and provide safe medication administration and monitoring.
• Collaborate with providers, charge nurses, patient care technicians, respiratory therapy, IV services, transport, case management, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in Cerner while supporting safe transitions of care and discharge planning.
• Float to comparable step-down units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care.
