Autonomous Vehicle Roadside Assistance Agent - Detroit MI (Onsite Position)

Job Overview TaskUs is hiring an Autonomous Vehicle Roadside Assistance Agent who will troubleshoot self‑driving vehicles, provide customer service, and support safe vehicle recovery. Key Responsibilities Reboot autonomous vehicles using basic computer troubleshooting skills. Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus. Connect to Android phones or laptops to issue commands to restart modules. Maintain situational awareness of technology and environment. Drive company vehicle 6–8 hours a day, 5 days a week to service autonomous vehicles. Operate non‑autonomous vehicle while monitoring autonomous vehicle(s). Ride as a passenger in autonomous vehicles and assist driverless passengers. Safely recover, park, protect, disengage, and transport autonomous vehicles to safe locations. Apply safety procedures for rescue operations. Communicate courteously with management, engineers, and the public. Respond quickly to changing, high‑pressure environments. Provide clear verbal and written feedback on vehicle operations. Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests. Educate the public on self‑driving technology and provide customer service. Comply with TaskUs' zero‑tolerance policy for alcohol or drugs and randomized drug testing. Other duties as required. Education & Certifications Must be 21 years old. High School Diploma or GED required; a four‑year college degree preferred in industrial or applied sciences. Valid driving record that meets state AVT regulations and applicable laws. Meet driver requirements, including criminal history, under regulations in the state(s) where work is performed. Experience Minimum 1 year entry‑level IT support or software troubleshooting experience. Minimum 3 years driving on public roads (additional experience preferred). Proficiency with laptop computers and GSuite apps. Proficiency with touchscreen smartphones. Ability to type at least 40 adjusted words per minute. Skills & Knowledge Excellent attention to detail and concise communication. Ability to multitask and respond to multiple scenarios simultaneously. Quickly adapt to new and developing technology. Strong cross‑functional verbal and written communication; issue escalation. Work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, overnight, and travel up to one month. Self‑motivated with good judgment in fast‑paced, high‑stress environments. Physical Requirements Occasional standing, walking, and sitting; long periods of sitting. Use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, or hear; climb stairs or ladders. Occasionally reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and/or move up to 45 pounds occasionally. Use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Outdoor work in a vehicle. Pre‑Employment Requirements Must submit to a drug test, background check, driving record check, and pre‑employment physical assessment. Compensation $25.00 hourly with 10% shift differential for hours between 8pm‑6am.
