Napa Harvest Internship

Job Description:

Melka Estates Winery is seeking a passionate winemaking Intern for the upcoming 2026 harvest. We are a small, family-owned Winery located in Saint Helena making Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay sourced from multiple vineyards in Napa Valley as well as Sonoma. This is a great opportunity to work with a small team and learn directly from our Winemakers, Philippe and Cherie Melka.

Your role as an intern would include but not be limited to:
-Fruit processing
-Pump overs
-Yeast and nutrient additions
-Fermentation management
-Data entry
-Barreling down wine
-Tank dig outs and pressing
-Barrel work
-Lab analysis
-Cleaning and general tidy of the cellar

What we look for in a candidate is somebody who is detail-oriented and has a drive to be part of making premium wines. We try to keep a good work/life balance during harvest, but there will be some long days required as well as weekend work. Prior harvest experience is a plus but not necessary as we are willing to train the right candidate. Prior Forklift experience is a plus as well. Our internship period generally ranges from the beginning of September through the end of October to early November, but may be altered depending on growing season. Hourly pay ranges from $21-$24 depending on experience.
