Commercial Estimator
We are seeking an Estimator to join their team in the Curtis Bay, MD area. This role will prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for retail and distribution construction projects, from small rollouts and remodels to large-scale ground-up builds. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience estimating retail and/or distribution center projects and is comfortable managing multiple bids in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate cost estimates for ground-up construction, renovations, and rollout projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Analyze bid documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive, reliable pricing
• Collaborate with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to execution
• Track historical cost data and market trends to improve estimate accuracy over time
• Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and internal leadership
• Assist in evaluating change orders and scope changes during construction as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in commercial construction
• Retail and/or distribution center construction experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under deadline pressure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $90,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience
