And that’s where you come in.Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated MMIS Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be the person responsible to assure the most effective MMIS functionality and implementation acrsoo the overall Project Lifecycle, jointly working together with all Project Departments, coordinating and preparing the necessary documentation at both System and SubSystem level, arranging the training, ensuring the proper interface management between the Design and Build team and the O&M team, as well as assure return of experience to the Product Engineering. The position is based in Pearl City, HI, USA.Roles/Responsibilities:AccountabilitiesEnsure the MMIS System data base is kept up to dateAct as the MMIS System Administrator and control access and authority rights in accordance with the MMIS Access Permission log Manage application issues that are cross functional and coordinate between all relevant teamsInvestigate issues related to the MMIS by Engineering and Maintenance staffProvide technical support and training to new users of the MMISEnsure that the MMIS systems down time is minimized and that data is backed-up regularly Produce MMIS reports noting any potential areas of improvementsEvaluate enhancement and changes to MMIS and recommend improvements to the Engineering and Asset ManagerImplement approved changes to the MMISPerform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Engineering & Asset EngineerEnsure a culture of customer service excellence and continuous improvement is delivered across the organization.Submit any scheduled reports or documentation required to supervisors or line managers as directed.Ensure that whatever management systems and tools are mandated for your department are used responsibly and accurately, ensuring reporting timelines are met for data input. Be aware and adhere to all departmental operational procedures and instructions.Be aware and adhere to all Human Resources procedures and instructions.Be aware and adhere to the Quality Policy and all related procedures and instructions relating to your department.Participates in training as requireEnsure that quality is embedded into the delivery of all work in line with established policies, systems, plans, procedures and work instructions by following the training you have been provided withEvaluate new enhancements to the MMIS on a cost / benefit basisBachelor Degree in Business, Computer Science or Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.Detailed knowledge of an MMIS system preferably MAXIMOAbility to enter new assets into the MMIS system databaseAbility to write technical reports, routine business correspondenceAbility to work on his/her own initiative and demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategiesTraining skillsPossess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a computer or information technology technician covering Maintenance Management Including Systems including functional design of the MMIS, configuration of software, system administration rights.Required Education/Skills:Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or related disciplineKnowledge of the MMIS concept and functions, with particular regard to the IBM Maximo solutions 2 to 5+ years of field experienceWorking knowledge with one or more of the following Rail Transit Signaling System: Automatic Train Control, Communication Base Train Control, Positive Train ControlAbility to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.A team player with a strong analytical mind and ability to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision.Desired Skills/ Knowledge:Experience in Maintenance Management Information Systems (MMIS)Basic working knowledge of Rail Transit Subsystem such as Automatic Train Supervision, Vehicle, Telecommunication, Platform Screen Gates, Traction Electrification, SCADA, CCTV, Radios, GPS, etc.Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting faults on ATC equipmentBasic understanding of software configuration managements (CM)Basic understanding of software programming logicBasic working knowledge of the Linux or UNIX operating systemUnderstand of Operation and Maintenance ProcessesGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAble to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervisionAble to work under pressure during intense periods of activitiesAbility to demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategiesStrong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.Education:Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or related disciplineLanguages:English ProficiencyThe salary range for this position is $89,760 - 134,640.
