Director of Sales

Responsibilities: Effectively maintain accounts to achieve business objectives. Identify and stay abreast of industry trends to provide leadership and education Work closely with DOSMs to effectively communicate new trends and develop strategies to increase revenue. Responsible for management of customer decisions and the relationship process. Responsible for directing and leading activities through internal and external resources. Work closely with all levels of the organization to resolve complex issues or concerns; communicating in a clear concise manner. Ensure full maximization of rooms potential. Maintain emphasis on exceeding established group rate guidelines. Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies/ action plans to generate revenues for the hotel. Stimulate productivity of all sales staff through guidance, development, and support. Develop, maintain, and implement creative packages to fill identified need periods in all markets. Active solicitation of key accounts to generate direct sales. Maintain Sales Team's focus on a Proactive Solicitation environment. Assist Director of Sales & Marketing in the achievement of overall Food and Beverage revenue. Develop, maintain, and implement the group rooms budgeting and forecasting process. Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively. Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis. Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows. Ensure a challenging and exciting environment to encourage full career development and personal growth. Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience. 5 years of Hotel sales experience in a Senior Sales or Director role. Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment. Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral. Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary. Strong business planning, account planning and budget management skills. Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue. Demonstrated ability to tie strategies and planned actions to results. Strong financial/statistical analysis and business case development skills. Strong understanding and expertise in the sales process. Extensive experience with account management.
