UHNW Lending Portfolio Management - Liquid Products (SBL) Vice President

Tailored Lending Group within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is seeking an Asset Manager for our Liquid Products Team, specializing in bespoke financing transactions for Ultra‑High Net Worth clients, including diversified and concentrated Securities‑Based Loans (SBL) and Life Insurance Loans. The role reports to the Head of Asset Management for Liquid Products and is based in Purchase, New York. Position Summary An experienced credit professional who can manage a portfolio of complex, highly structured loans. Key responsibilities include: managing modifications, renewals, and annual reviews of existing credit facilities; performing credit analyses and producing high‑quality credit memoranda; and running point on loan modifications in partnership with Lending Transactors and Credit Professionals. Key Responsibilities Perform credit analyses covering financial statements and collateral, and review loan documents. Produce detailed credit memoranda outlining transaction structure, analysis results, and risk evaluation for Credit Risk Managers’ review and approval. Lead loan modification activities in partnership with Lending Transactors and Credit Professionals. Continuously monitor financial condition, covenant compliance, and collateral valuations of loan parties; communicate findings to business unit and management. Value collateral to advise on margin calls; collaborate with Business, Operations, FA teams, and Clients to resolve any issues. Track developments in capital markets, macro‑economic and geopolitical events to assess potential impacts on loan parties. Timely amend loan classifications, risk ratings, and perform impairment analysis when necessary. Partner with Lending Transactors and Credit Professionals during transition of loans to Asset Management. Coordinate with Clients, Financial Advisors, Private Bankers, Loan Operations, Compliance, and Legal teams throughout the loan lifecycle. Ensure portfolio data integrity within internal systems and maintain accurate, timely updates of loan portfolio metrics and reports. Assist in building and continuously improving asset‑management processes and procedures within Tailored Lending. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 5‑7 years of lending and credit experience in private banking, investment banking, and/or commercial banking. Experience in accounting and finance. Detail‑oriented with exceptional analytical skills and the ability to understand complex financial statements and loan structures. Experience with troubled debt restructuring and non‑accrual loans is a plus. High focus on work quality and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels. Ability to meet deadlines and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to collaborate effectively with related parties across the firm. Compensation Expected base pay rates for the role are between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at commencement of employment. Base pay will be determined individually and is part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley‑sponsored benefit programs.
