About the Position

Job Title: RN Neuro PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience preferred License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills - IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration experience - Ability to manage medication administration and cardiac drips (no titration) - Competence in respiratory support, isolation precautions, and rapid response Description: This position involves working in a Neuro PCU setting. Successful candidates will provide care for adult patients experiencing neurological conditions. Patient ratios will be 1:4 to 1:5, depending on staffing needs. The unit includes dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring. Responsibilities include neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and care for neuro-specific diagnoses and medical overflow patients. Floating to units within the clinical skill set may be required. Weekend shifts may be required, typically every other weekend or six shifts in a six-week block. Ongoing education and training may be part of the requirements. This position needs a commitment to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will work with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Healthcare providers will focus on continuous monitoring, assessment, and intervention for patient safety and well-being.
