BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.BR+A has an immediate opening in our NY office to hire an established mechanical engineer with 5 -8 years of experience in the design and construction of central utility plants. The position is in the HVAC department for the engineer to perform central utilities work in the scope of building services engineering - primarily for Hospitals, Laboratories, and Higher Education facilities. Strong engineering knowledge and experience of chilled water, heating hot water/steam, cooling towers, and heat recovery systems is required. Similarly demonstrable success in engineering design and the ability to innovate in a practical manner is necessary to be successful in this position.We work in a highly collaborative environment therefore strong coordination skills with other MEP disciplines, Energy Engineers, and architects are required. Working knowledge of REVIT, Navisworks and ACAD are a strong plus.Other Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineeringPE license (a strong plus but not required).Additional credentials are also desirable - these could include CEM with AEE, CHS with ASHRAE, LEED, etc.BR+A is a place to learn, to grow, to work hard for clients that matter – and to be part of something bigger.
