Together we continue to grow as the world’s leading energy company!About the roleThe role will be responsible for supporting trading and origination activities including deal entry, position reporting, trade modeling, and profit and loss reporting. The Trade Analyst position is part of Trading Operations within BP Supply Trading and Shipping (ST&S) Americas. The role has a hybrid work schedule, with mandatory in office attendance.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily trade entry and validation of deals in the trading system, following all business policiesCalculate and report accurate trading book profit and loss (P&L) estimates each day.Reconcile and explain book P&L estimates compared to system calculation and identify issues.Maintain & improve trader models and curve sheets, ensuring all data is accurate and completeUnderstand the trading book positions, transactions, and market price curvesCollaborate with the Traders and Origination team, providing transaction support, seeking to operationalize commercial opportunitiesInterface with Trading Functions assist with post trade processesRequired to support the Business Continuity Program (BCP) when local office is closed, temporary relocation will be provided at backup site.Essential Education, experience and requirementsKnowledge of US Power, Natural Gas, or other Energy marketsThe ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goalsDemonstrate a rigorous work ethic and can handle competing priorities and deadlinesStrong technical skills in MS Excel and databases, can compose & evaluate formulas and queriesWork schedule mandatory in office Monday -Thursday, remote FridayDesired qualificationsKnowledge of mark to market accounting for energy commoditiesExperience in process design and testing of energy trading systems specifically EndurStrong interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsSkillful use of computer programing languages in VBA, SQL, or PythonWhy join UsAt bp, we believe diversity strengthens our team.
