Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel contract in Alabama, requiring at least one year of recent ER experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Job Details

• High acuity, high volume combined adult and pediatric emergency department,
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics,
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4,
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30,
• Every other weekend required,
• Skills required include: blood product administration, central line care/management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, ortho-trauma, identifying and reporting abuse (peds), near drowning (peds), respiratory infections (peds), and seizures (peds),

Job Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or compact license accepted; pending license submissions considered,
• Current AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required,
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required,
• Fit Test required,
• CPI and TNCC preferred,
• Minimum one year of recent emergency department experience required,
• Level II Trauma experience preferred,
• Travel nursing experience preferred,
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past two years required for consideration,
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to apply,

Additional Information

• Hospital-provided housing is available, consisting of shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; male or female units only; no dogs allowed; travelers coordinate directly with the facility,
• The facility is located in a remote area, making the provided housing the best local option,
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be subject to a different pay rate,
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract,
• A mandatory 30-minute lunch break is required; meals may not be skipped
