Remote Accounting Specialist

Role: An Accounting Specialist supporting workforce services, primarily working remotely with weekly in-person visits to a center in Columbus, Ohio. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts receivable, payables, payroll, report preparation, and reconciliations. Compile, review, and electronically file accounting documents, including invoices, vouchers, and reports. Ensure accuracy in documentation, processing of payments, and account reconciliations. Support monthly close processes, asset postings, and account reconciliations. Assist with funding purchase card reconciliation and local checking account management. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for accounting support and payroll functions. Review timekeeping data, secure payroll approvals, and maintain payroll documentation for audits. Qualifications High school diploma or GED, with accounting courses or equivalent experience. Minimum one year of full-time accounting experience, familiarity with accounting software (Oracle or similar) a plus. Strong organizational, Excel, and general ledger skills. Ability to multi-task and adapt to new applications. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
