Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Howard Beach, NY. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!Specific Duties:Greet patients, assist with registration, verify insurance, and collect co-payments.Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and assist providers with patient care.Prepare exam rooms, perform basic lab testing, and handle/track patient specimens.Document patient information and encounters in Epic/EMR.Schedule referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing; coordinate authorizations.Answer patient calls, provide follow-up support, and maintain exam room/lab supplies.

Requirements:High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or college coursework preferred.Medical Assistant or medical office experience preferred; Urgent Care experience highly desired.Hands-on experience taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and basic lab testing.Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.Epic/EMR experience preferred; knowledge of insurance and managed care plans is a plus.Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel between locations as needed.Medical assistant certification required.Additional Information:Location: Howard Beach, NY
