About the Department

Cardiac Stepdown Intermediate Care

Join our 27-bed, high-paced Cardiac/Medical Stepdown unit, where you’ll care for a diverse patient population and have opportunities to grow your clinical skills. Our team is committed to high-quality patient care and values the voice of our nurses through a strong shared governance model.

In this role, you’ll care for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, post-cardiac surgery, and those recovering from cardiac interventions. You’ll use your telemetry and critical-thinking skills to closely monitor patients, recognize changes in condition, and provide timely interventions. You’ll also partner with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to support recovery and promote heart health.

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Health, you will provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. You'll utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while effectively communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Your role is critical in ensuring patient goals are met and solutions are implemented when variances occur.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
• Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

SCHEDULE: (3) - 12 Hour Shifts, 7am - 730pm, every other weekend and rotating holidays

LOCATION:  Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital

Qualifications

What You Will Need

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
