Registered Nurse - Float Pool

Role Overview This position involves assessing, planning, delegating, and evaluating nursing care for a diverse patient population, serving as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit needs. The role includes educating patients and families on health promotion and disease management, safely administering medications following policies, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards and regulations. Key responsibilities include supporting productivity through effective resource utilization, participating in shared governance and quality improvement initiatives, engaging in ongoing professional development, and fostering a supportive environment for new staff and students. The role may also involve duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator roles when assigned. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current New York State RN license, CPR, and ACLS certifications. Clinical experience in acute or ambulatory care preferred; professional certification in nursing specialty is a plus. Work Environment & Additional Info Work occurs in both office and patient care areas, requiring physical activity like walking, standing, and lifting. Fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions, exposure to disinfectants, and PPE use.
