Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in an acute care setting. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, focusing on surgical recovery and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, exceptional teamwork, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 17 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Electronic Medical Records: Cerner
- Nurse Aide Support: 1 nurse aide for day shifts
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Holiday Requirements: Work will be integrated into the permanent staff rotation
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Floating: Required to float to tele units with a 1 to 4 ratio, as well as to other medical-surgical floors
Shift Information
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Orientation: 1 shift of orientation specific to the unit
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a medical-surgical specialty
- Prior travel experience is required
- Certifications: BLS required
- Nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry; a dysrhythmia exam will be administered
Patient Population
Common diagnoses and types of patients include hip, knee, shoulder, and spinal surgeries, with no IV drips commonly administered during care.
Additional Notes
This position does not require a BSN. The unit has a hospitalist on-site 24/7 for patient care. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are also available 24/7. As a team member, you will be expected to contribute positively to a collaborative working environment.
