Business Analyst

Overview:

The Contractor shall provide Information Technology (IT) staff augmentation services to support the Department's Office of Information Technology (OIT), in a potential multiyear effort to serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs. The Contractor Representative should understand IT systems and capabilities, be able to analyze operations to find opportunities for process automation and assist in business process redesign to translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization.

Contractor Responsibilities:

Business Analyst Task List. The Contractor, through the Business Analyst(s) it provides, shall perform the following tasks as necessary to complete work on/for OIT as assigned by the Department's Contract Manager:

1. Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

2. Analyze business unit operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

3. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new.

4. Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.

Mandatory Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or five (5) years equivalent work experience.

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant technical or business work experience.

Experience serving as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

Experience analyzing business unit operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.

Experience assisting in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.

Experience translating high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and managing changes to such specifications.

Excellent communication and documentation skills. (Proficient in English)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with a legacy mainframe applications.

Experience working with the FLAIR (Florida Accounting Information Resource) system and its subsystems.
