Accounting Support SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Accounting Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the accounting department through accurate processing, organization, and maintenance of financial data. This role is highly process-driven and requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working within structured workflows to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess financial transactions, including cash activity, deposits, and general accounting entriesMaintain supporting schedules (prepaids, deposits, and other recurring account reconciliations)Assist with monthly close activities by preparing and posting routine journal entriesMatch and reconcile bank transactions; maintain organized supporting documentationSupport banking functions, including deposits and cash trackingEnsure financial data is entered accurately and timely in accordance with established proceduresIdentify and flag discrepancies or missing information for reviewMaintain organized electronic files and documentation for audit and reporting purposesCollaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting team members to ensure completeness of financial recordsKey CompetenciesDetail-oriented and accurateStrong follow-through and accountabilityAbility to work in a structured, process-driven environmentTime management and prioritization skillsProblem identification and escalationQualifications1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferredAssociate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)Strong attention to detail and accuracyHighly organized with the ability to manage recurring tasks and deadlinesAbility to follow established processes and procedures consistentlyProficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systemsStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments #J-18808-Ljbffr
