Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll using ADP Vantage for NYPA and its subsidiaries. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, manages employee payroll records, resolves payroll discrepancies, and collaborates with HR and Accounting to maintain accurate employee data. Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Vantage, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain employee files and update master records in ADP.
• Monitor and review time entries in the Time & Attendance system.
• Calculate special payments, retroactive payments, final payments, sick and vacation payouts, and taxable relocation payments.
• Reconcile payroll registers against original source data to verify accuracy.
• Serve as a point of contact for payroll processing issues, errors, corrections, and stakeholder inquiries.
• Process payroll entries including deduction changes, direct deposit updates, benefits, withholding, W4 changes, paid time off adjustments, new hires, and additional payments.
• Monitor compliance with NYPA time and attendance policies, troubleshooting employee and manager entry issues.
• Collaborate closely with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.

• Proficiency in ADP Vantage payroll system.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance procedures and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to issue resolution.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work across various systems simultaneously.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of two years payroll experience using ADP Vantage.

• Advanced knowledge of SAP payroll system.

• Must handle sensitive and confidential payroll information with discretion.
• Strong troubleshooting skills required to resolve payroll and timekeeping issues.
