Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours, weekends as scheduled Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP Must-Have: C-Section experience required Description: The unit operates on a patient ratio of 1:1 for Labor and Delivery and 1:4 for couplets. There are 8 total beds, with 4 labor beds and 4 postpartum beds. The nursery has a capacity of 8 cribs. Triage beds can be used interchangeably with 2 of the labor beds. The facility supports approximately 350 births per year. Staffing typically involves 4 nurses during the day and 3-4 at night. Nurses may be placed on call due to low or high census, though this is infrequent. Recognized certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring. The charting system is TruBridge - Evident. This position may require some floating to other areas if staff have appropriate experience. Common diagnoses include various gestational ages, magnesium sulfate, insulin, Pitocin, and VBACs. This unit is strictly dedicated to Labor and Delivery, with occasional overflow from other units depending on availability. Nurses may be required to circulate C-Sections if the operating room team is not present. There is a dedicated pharmacy that operates 24/7, and respiratory therapy is available around the clock. The facility provides scrubs for all staff. There is an expectation to work into the holiday rotation. Staff members help maintain a safe and supportive environment for both patients and their families.
