The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) for the Wrentham Developmental Center is seeking to offer a Habilitation Coordinator I (HabCo I) position to an individual desiring to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and or developmental disabilities. This position affords valuable work experience to build one's foundation for professional development and advancement.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through various data collection systems in order to monitor progress and ensure
maximum growth.
- Document results of services rendered in accordance with the standardized agency policies and procedures to ensure
effective communication on individual status.
- Follow through on requests and assignments initiated by supervisors to assist in the accomplishment of department
goals.
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of program services according to established guidelines to ensure the
provision of Active Treatment.
- Clinical responsibilities will require assessing individuals in accordance with Department policy in order to determine
appropriate educational training programs.
- Develop individual centered objectives and interventions in conjunction with other team members through participation in
the Individual Service Plan (ISP) process and related clinical meetings to provide quality services to individuals.
- Monitor program staff in order to meet established individual objectives and assist in providing quality of life. Teach
program staff general and specific approaches and plans to ensure quality program services. Required Qualifications:
- Proficient of theories, principles and practical techniques for special education and training.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to appropriately articulate and document case activities.
- Resourcefulness to set performance standards, work independently, problem solve and make decisions.
- Possession of required skill, knowledge and qualification to prioritize caseload. Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Development/Human Services, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Sociology, Special
Education, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field.
- License and/or teaching certificate.
- 1 - 3 years of professional teaching experience.
- Ability to develop, Implement and evaluate resident programs.
- Competent to train and instruct teaching methods and techniques using principles of human growth and development.
- Knowledge and experience as an interdisciplinary team member involved in the Individual Service Plan (ISP) process. Agency Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Schedule Information:
Full-time - 40-hour weekly position
Schedule - Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Days off - Saturday and Sunday

Applicants must have (A) a High School diploma/GED and (B) at least two (2) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or para-professional experience working in rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation or the counseling, guidance or education of individuals with developmental disabilities, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Incumbents may be required to possess a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.
Based on assignment, incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Development/Human Services, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field may be substituted for the required (B) experience.
II. A Bachelor's degree or higher in a major other than the degrees above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (B) experience
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range .
