Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal or Administrative Assistant/Personal Assistant to join our husband/wife team in a private practice. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting legal operations, managing case files, assisting with forensic experts' processes, filing electronic records, and scheduling. You will be focusing on the expert work for 80-90% of the workload. The personal assistant portion will be 10-20% of the workload. Your energetic approach and meticulous attention to detail will help ensure smooth legal workflows and uphold the highest standards of legal and personal assistant service to the business and household as needed. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your forensic & legal expertise while contributing to impactful legal & personal assistant work. You will begin as a 1099 employee and are able to be brought on as a W-2 at a later date.

Duties

• Assist in managing by coordinating schedules, meetings, and case assignments to ensure efficient workflow.
• Support procedural law compliance by preparing and reviewing legal documents, filings, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and regulations.
• Manage contract documentation from drafting through review, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.
• Aid in litigation discovery processes by organizing and reviewing documents and evidence.
• Draft clear and concise legal writing such as memos, briefs, and basic reports for internal use or court submissions.
• Maintain organized case files and records digitally and physically to facilitate quick retrieval and compliance audits.
• For the personal assistant role, you will be assisting in transporting children to and from athletic events and practices.
• For the personal assistant role, you will help plan and set up venues for various events.

Skills

• Proven experience managing hectic and fluid calendars and electronic filing effectively.
• Strong knowledge of procedural law to ensure proper filing procedures and courtroom protocols are followed.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with litigation discovery tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
• Excellent legal writing skills with the ability to produce well-structured emails, memos, and pleadings.
• Exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients and external partners.
• Be flexible with scheduling demands of the household when needed. We will provide the transportation for your needs.
