Job Title: Registered Nurse – Wound Care
Location: New York, NY
Type: Contract (14 Weeks)
Shift & Schedule: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Every Other Weekend
Pay: $78/hr - $83/hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Wound Care for an exciting Contract job in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments focused on wound, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wound care needs.

• Develop, implement, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient diagnosis and clinical presentation.

• Perform ongoing assessment and documentation of patient response to wound care treatments and interventions.

• Initiate and recommend preventative measures for patients at risk of pressure injuries.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding wound care, ostomy management, and continence care.

• Develop and deliver staff education, including orientation, in-services, and continuing education programs.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including incidence and prevalence studies and nursing quality reviews.

• Ensure proper utilization and management of wound care equipment, including specialty beds and negative pressure wound therapy devices.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

• Identify and support patient access to appropriate community resources.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.

• Experience in wound care and ostomy management.

• One of the following wound care certifications:

  • CWOCN – Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse

  • CWON – Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse

  • CWCN – Certified Wound Care Nurse

  • CWS – Certified Wound Specialist

  • WCC – Wound Care Certified

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in inpatient wound care or specialty wound services.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.

• Experience in patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
