Active Directory Engineer

Overview One of the country’s largest banking institutions is searching for an experienced Senior Active Directory Engineer to join their information security team. In this role, you’ll shape the security and scalability of enterprise-wide identity and access management by deploying, engineering, and enhancing a complex Active Directory (AD) environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale transformation projects to keep critical systems secure, optimized, and compliant. Location and contract details : 12-month W2 contract, based in Chandler, AZ. Benefits are included, with strong potential for extension or conversion for high performers. This is a 12 Month Contract (Possible Extension or Contract to hire). Not open to C2C. Must be local to the Chandler, AZ area. Must be able to work (3 Days Onsite per week). Location: Hybrid (Client located in Chandler, AZ area). Responsibilities Consult on and lead major information security engineering initiatives with enterprise-level scope. Design, deploy, and manage Active Directory infrastructure—including domain controllers, group policies, and organizational units—for a highly complex, large-scale environment. Engineer, configure, and oversee 14+ interdependent applications supporting AD. Troubleshoot and resolve advanced AD issues such as authentication, replication, and access control. Develop, update, and enforce security standards for AD environments, with a focus on privileged access management and audit logging. Lead updates to systems and configurations to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities and compliance with security standards. Partner with IT, cybersecurity, and applications teams to integrate AD with enterprise platforms and cloud services. Maintain clear technical documentation and provide best-practice guidance to peers and stakeholders. Participate in compliance reviews and risk assessments, ensuring robust identity and access management controls. Manage engineering workload within Jira, applying Agile methodologies. Skill Requirements 5+ years of enterprise-level Active Directory engineering experience. Advanced expertise with Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, and AD-related infrastructure. Extensive hands-on experience building, configuring, and managing AD domain controllers, including virtualization. Proficiency in automation and scripting, particularly with PowerShell. Experience using Jira and working effectively in Agile environments. Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain secure AD architectures. Familiarity with IAM frameworks, privileged access management practices, and compliance protocols. Preferred: Experience with Azure AD, hybrid identity setups, and cloud platform integrations. Preferred: Experience with Microsoft HyperV management. Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
