A leading aerospace manufacturer is looking for a Design Engineer to join a highly funded engineering group working on both established and next-generation aircraft programs.

This is a hands-on design role focused on aircraft hydraulic systems and components, with the opportunity to work across legacy landing gear platforms as well as significant NPI and clean-sheet development for next-generation helicopter programs.

The Role as a Design Engineer:

  • Lead the design and development of new aerospace hydraulic products from concept through production.
  • Design hydraulic components and systems supporting established aircraft and landing gear platforms.
  • Work on NPI and clean-sheet engineering projects for next-generation helicopter programs.
  • Develop conceptual designs from customer requirements and specifications.
  • Own technical aspects of new product development, including drawings, documentation and production readiness.
  • Perform and support tolerance studies, structural/FEA, hydraulic and dynamic analysis.
  • Develop qualification test plans and support component testing and qualification.
  • Work closely with customers, manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Provide technical support for production and fielded products.
  • Help mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Support the transition of new designs into production.

What We're Looking For in the Design Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of product design experience, ideally involving aerospace hydraulics, hydraulic components, actuators, landing gear or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving background.
  • Experience taking products through design, development, qualification and production.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerancing and design for manufacturing.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Career Growth as a Design Engineer:

This is part of a large, highly funded design engineering organization with significant long-term growth opportunities. As the team and programs expand, there are potential career paths into:

  • Engineering Management / Engineering Leadership
  • VP-level Engineering leadership
  • Commercial / Business Management
  • Business Unit leadership

The company is investing heavily in its next-generation engineering capabilities, making this an opportunity to contribute to both established aerospace platforms and future aircraft programs.
