Location: 904 Avenue O, Lubbock, TX, 79401, United States Base Pay: $35.00 - $47.88 / Hour Job Category: Employee Employee Type: Non-Exempt PT Required Degree: 2 Year Degree Travel: 50% Manage Others: No Responsibilities Work is performed under minimal supervision of the Aging and Disability Health Services Director, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The RN – Part Time works and has a good rapport with the Health Services Director, Medical Director, and nursing team to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Primary Functions Providing skilled nursing care for the geriatric participant(s) in their residence, including nursing homes (NH) and assisted living facilities (ALF). Performing assessments as scheduled and/or needed, not limited to but including post-hospital assessments (PH), fall assessments, wound care, medication administration, and any other services that may arise. Availability Being available for scheduled tasks, including on‑call weekend availability, encompassing evenings and holidays. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and the ability to travel locally within Lubbock County; some exposure to unpleasant weather/PRN emergency call. Duties Taking and monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation), weight, blood sugar levels, and assisting with assessments as scheduled and/or needed. Administering injections and/or medications or observing self‑administration of medications. Assisting with maintaining medication regimen by calling in refills and filling/making changes to medication pill packs, as needed. Providing urgent physical assessment and first aid and following up on incident/injuries. Assessing participant health care needs and coordinating and/or referring for hospital/outside care. Accurately inventorying and maintaining prescribed and over‑the‑counter medications and keeping medical records up to date. Reporting and taking direct instruction from RN on‑call. Completing and submitting documentation by end of shift. Collaborating and communicating information with supervisor and other Agency employees. Attending scheduled meetings and trainings. Schedule Standard Shift: Day Shift, Evening Shift Alternating Biweekly: Weekends/Holidays, After Hours Visits and PRN Availability. On–Call Pay $25.00/Day Monday ‑ Friday and $75.00/day for Saturday & Sunday and StarCare Approved Holidays. RN Base Rate Structure 0 → $35.00 1 → $37.80 2 → $38.93 3 → $40.10 4 → $41.31 5 → $42.54 6 → $43.82 7 → $45.14 8 → $46.49 9+ → $47.88 Differentials Degree (BSN & MSN) → $1.00 each ANCC/APNA Certified → $1.00 Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, and four (4) years of full‑time experience as a practicing registered nurse is preferred. Must have at least one (1) year of experience with a frail or elderly population, current, up‑to‑date immunization status medicall, and cleared of communicable diseases. Preferred experience in home health care setting, with an emphasis on an interdisciplinary approach to treatment. Skills & Abilities Skill and proficiency in oral and written communication, strategic planning, operating a personal computer with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and email), and knowledge and skill to operate standard office equipment, i.e., fax, phone, calculator, typewriter, copier, printer, etc. Additional Requirements Must pass a pre‑hire drug screen and criminal background check. Must have a Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
